Highest Onshore Wind Turbine in the Country Located in Ghent
Energy producer ENGIE has reached a new milestone with the construction of Belgium’s highest onshore wind turbine at North Sea Port in Ghent. This impressive wind turbine, standing at 247 meters tall with a capacity of 6.2 megawatts, surpasses the previous record of 238 meters in the same port area. Sweco was responsible for the permit application, the detailed design of the foundation and infrastructure, and the technical report. Read more

New Sludge Dryers Enhance Sustainability of Water Treatment Chain
Aquafin has started constructing two CO₂-neutral sludge dryers in Beringen and Roeselare. The residual heat from Biostoom Beringen and the intermunicipal Mirom will be used to dry the sludge from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). Read more
VDAB Career Campus becomes inspiring top-tier example
In Roeselare, construction has begun on a brand-new VDAB Career Campus, a first of its kind. VDAB will offer its full range of services there, alongside various partner organizations. The DBFM project will be a CO₂-neutral landmark in terms of sustainability. Sweco is proud to lend its expertise as an engineering partner for this realization, made possible in part by support from the European Regional Development Fund.
